Saudi Arabia applauds ICJ decision on Rafah, calls for international action
Saudi Arabia has welcomed the recent decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which mandates Israel to immediately cease military attacks or any other offensive actions in the Rafah governorate. This directive is in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the ICJ’s decision as a crucial step towards supporting the moral and legal rights of the Palestinian people. The statement underlined the necessity for international resolutions to encompass all Palestinian territories in line with the established resolutions of international legitimacy.
Reaffirming its stance, the Kingdom reiterated its appeal to the global community to fulfill its responsibilities in stopping all forms of aggression against the Palestinian people.
Similarly, the Muslim World League (MWL) has endorsed the ICJ’s directive to halt the military operations in Rafah, Gaza. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, highlighted the importance of this ruling in safeguarding Palestinian rights.
He called upon the international community to act decisively by enforcing these decisions, stopping the aggression, and mitigating the suffering of the Palestinians, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
