Israeli settlers storm Bedouin community in occupied West Bank: Report
A group of illegal Israeli settlers purportedly infiltrated the Bedouin community of Arab Al-Malehat, situated northwest of Jericho in the occupied West Bank. The incursion reportedly involved the theft of sheep owned by a local resident, Suleiman Atallah Malehat. Hassan Malehat, supervisor of the Baidar organization dedicated to defending Bedouin rights, conveyed to the WAFA news agency the forceful entry of settlers into the community, resulting in the alleged pilferage of approximately 30 sheep.
The incident underscores an ongoing pattern of tensions and confrontations between Israeli settlers and Bedouin communities in the region. WAFA’s report reveals a troubling trend, with statistics indicating a significant number of agricultural assets seized in similar attacks over the past year. Specifically, Israeli occupation forces and settlers are said to have confiscated 43 agricultural tractors, 293 vehicles, and 296 sheep from Bedouin communities in the area.
