Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2023 gears up for launch in Dubai amid COP28
The eagerly awaited third edition of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum is set to commence on Monday in Dubai, coinciding with the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
Themed “From Ambition to Action,” the Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2023 will spotlight ongoing initiatives and projects across Saudi Arabia. The annual gathering serves as a platform for global policymakers, opinion leaders, and climate experts to exchange ideas and delve into effective strategies for addressing climate challenges and fostering sustainability.
This year’s agenda includes discussions on financing climate action, innovative clean energy solutions, societal involvement in climate action, and the protection of land and marine areas in Saudi Arabia. Sustainability, the role of financing in climate action, tree planting, and environmental rehabilitation will also be key focal points.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a distinguished group of climate experts from Saudi Arabia and around the world, gaining insights into crucial trends in sustainability. The Saudi Green Initiative, initiated by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman in 2021, aims to combat climate change, elevate quality of life, and safeguard the environment for future generations.
With three primary goals—emission reduction, afforestation, and land and nature conservation—the initiative encompasses over 80 projects, representing substantial investments in the green economy. The Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2023 promises to be a vital platform for advancing global efforts towards a more sustainable future.
