Russia expects Azerbaijan, Turkey to play key role in ensuring stability in Karabakh
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has expressed Russia’s expectations for Azerbaijan and Turkey to collaborate in maintaining stability and security in the Karabakh region.
He emphasized the importance of the recent meetings between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in achieving these goals.
“We hope that each meeting conducted by the President of Azerbaijan, including those with the President of Turkey, will contribute to enhancing security in the region and the normalization of daily life in Karabakh,” Peskov stated during the press conference in Moscow.
Russia, known for its active involvement in the Karabakh issue, also conveyed its support for all initiatives aimed at resolving the long-standing conflict in the region. Peskov stressed that any efforts to reduce tensions and facilitate the integration of the Armenian population in Karabakh into a new reality would be positively received.
The statements by the Kremlin spokesperson reflect Russia’s continued interest in promoting peace and stability in Karabakh through diplomatic means and international cooperation.
