Kuje Prison allegedly in flames, residents in shock as gunshots persist

Kuje prison is reportedly under attack and now in flames as residents are said to be in shock over endless sounds of gunshots.

Residents of AA1 and Karimafo area of Kuje said that the jail break attempt started around 10:45pm on Tuesday when the gunshots started.

The residents said at first they suspected it was robbery attack going on within their neighborhood and contacted the Kuje DPO who said his men have been deployed and that they are trying to find their way to know exactly how to access where it’s really happening and that they are doing there best.

Sundiata Post gathered that military and other security agencies have been deployed to repel the attack and bring the situation to control.

As at the time if filling this report, there is no confirmation from the authorities on the real situation of things as the calls put across to the DPO went through but he could not take his call.
