Israeli PM holds meeting with MBS in Saudi Arabia

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has flown to Saudi Arabia for a ‘clandestine’ meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The meeting which was held on Monday November 23, 2020, would mark the first known encounter between senior Israeli and Saudi officials.

An Israeli official as stated that “Netanyahu and Yossi Cohen, head of Israel’s Mossad spy agency, flew to the Saudi city of Neom on Sunday, where they met with the crown prince.”

According to the official, the prince was there for talks with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Israel recently signed normalization agreements with two Gulf states Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates and has long maintained clandestine security ties with Saudi Arabia.

The Gulf kingdom has been rumored to be among other Arab states considering establishing open diplomatic ties with Israel.
