No More Mob Justice

Dear fellow humans:

Our nonchalant reactions to lawlessness and barbarism concerning ‘Mob Justice’ must cease today.  When it comes to ‘Mob Justice’ (Jungle Justice/Village Justice/Street Justice), it is one of the worst violations of human rights where it is practiced today. It violates all sensible laws, religions, norms and civilizations. It is barbaric. It is ugly. It is self hate. It defies logic and common sense. It plays no good role or solves any problem in society. It gives false sense of power and justice to the inhumane cowards who participate in it. It renders governmental authority dysfunctional, its rule of law useless, and its law enforcement profession unnecessary. It shames a nation and invalidates its professional institutions. It brings the worst and most heartlessness out of its ignorant jubilant participants.

Even if the accused perpetrators are seen committing the act or heard confessing to it, they (the accused) still can’t be deprived of their rights to due process according the law, mental health evaluation, and investigation of all other relevant circumstances. Furthermore, no one has the right to be the police, the judge and the executioner. None at all!

Unfortunately, the most shocking thing about this barbarism is that it takes place mostly in countries that consider themselves religious. How could a God-fearing, law abiding, and civilized people could allow such despicably beastly acts? What kind of evilness would justify the savage murdering of poor children accused of stealing valueless items?

I have been speaking to African diplomats from various countries and they all said we have laws against this. And my constant reply is why don’t you enforce it then.

Now I wish there are enough God-fearing people (who are as terrified as I am) who would mobilize the masses to hold demonstrations in front of legislative houses of countries where these acts continue to take place.
