Blazing Inferno spreads throughout the residential tower in Dubai
On August 4, 2017 Friday morning at 4 am, the world’s most populous record breaking 1,100ft Torch Tower (86-storey tower, a residential popular tourism hotspot) turned into the chaotic echoes when it caught fire.
According to some official sources, it is declared, “Torch Tower full of expats bursts into horrific flames in chilling echo of the Grenfell Tower disaster – but, unlike London, its wealthy residents make it out alive.”
“Fire ‘spread rapidly’ through the skyscraper in Dubai’s world-famous Marina in the early hours of this morning,
“Unlike the inferno in West London in June, in which at least 80 died, residents of the Torch were able to escape unharmed.” Rachael Burford stated.
The pictures went viral on social media, it could be seen crashing down to the ground below as hundreds of terrified residents fled and firefighters desperately tackled the blaze.
Cara Spillane added, “Terrifying to see Torch Tower, in the area I live in on fire now. Hope everyone gets out OK.”
Witnesses told CNN that that morning’s blaze was understood to have stated on the 63rd floor before spreading across 40-storeys of the 676-flat building, where apartments start at £381,000.
One resident said, “It takes 10 minutes to run down a fire escape stairs from the 50th floor to escape.”
But authorities said, “The skyscraper was ‘successfully evacuated.”
‘We were sleeping and we woke up to the fire alarm and people screaming.
“We ran down the stairs and it took us about 10 minutes to reach from the 50th floor,” a resident who gave his name as George told Reuters.
He added, “It was very bad. The fire was very strong at that time, about 1 a.m. Then it started calming down over the next two hours.”
Twitter user Ernesto Che Guevara said, “If you are in there get out! It’s spreading rapidly up the building.”
Rob Shepherd tweeted, “Another major fire just broken out at Torch Tower Dubai friends and relatives just escaping now.”
