Saudi Arabia opens year-round Umrah access for GCC residents

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can now perform Umrah at any time of the year, offering expanded and flexible options for the pilgrimage.
The ministry outlined several pathways for organizing Umrah to ensure a seamless experience. Pilgrims can purchase Umrah packages through Nusuk, Saudi Arabia’s official digital platform for pilgrimage services. Alternatively, they can apply for a visa via accredited centers.
Travelers transiting through the Kingdom on Saudia Airlines or Flynas can obtain a transit visa, allowing them to perform Umrah during their stopover.
Another option is applying for a tourism visa through the electronic visa platform, which enables access to the holy sites across Saudi Arabia in addition to the pilgrimage.
Regardless of the entry method, all pilgrims must secure an Umrah permit via the Nusuk app before arriving at the Grand Mosque in Mecca to ensure smooth and organized rituals.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to facilitating easier access for pilgrims and enhancing their spiritual experience. It also aligns with the Kingdom’s broader efforts to improve pilgrimage services and promote religious tourism.
