Palestinian president addresses Arab-Islamic Summit, demands expulsion of Israel from Gaza
At the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urged Israel to comply with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735, which calls for an immediate end to military aggression in Gaza.
Addressing regional leaders, Abbas insisted that Israel must permit humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and withdraw its forces to allow the State of Palestine to regain full sovereignty over the area.
He emphasized the urgent need for displaced Palestinians to return to their homes and for the reconstruction of areas heavily damaged by recent conflicts.
In addition, Abbas called for an end to Israel’s efforts to isolate Gaza from the West Bank and Jerusalem, highlighting that such actions threaten the territorial unity of Palestine.
Abbas also condemned alleged war crimes and violence by Israeli settlers, calling the actions as forms of terrorism that exacerbate the suffering of Palestinian civilians.
He urged the international community to take decisive action to uphold Palestinian rights and support a path toward a sustainable peace.
