Iraqi PM, Qatari Emir discuss recent developments in Palestine
Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, engaged in a phone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to deliberate on recent events in Palestine.
The discussions, held on Monday, revolved around the implications of ongoing developments in the region, with a shared emphasis on the imperative of halting the escalating violence and airstrikes in Gaza. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued a statement detailing their conversation.
Both leaders underscored the necessity of redoubling efforts to compel the Israeli occupying forces to adhere to international laws and conventions, renounce their aggressive policies towards the Palestinian population, and desist from further transgressions against sacred sites. Additionally, they jointly called for swift international intervention to ensure the Palestinian people’s right to inhabit their homeland.
This dialogue follows a recent meeting in Baghdad between Prime Minister Al-Sudani and Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, where they delved into the latest Palestine-related developments and their repercussions for the Palestinian populace.
The recent events in Palestine have garnered global attention, with Hamas launching an unprecedented attack on Israel last Saturday, resulting in the capture of Israeli civilians and soldiers by Hamas fighters.
