Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli military operation in the West Bank’s Jenin area, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency on Thursday.
The raid, which has triggered gunfire and explosions in the flashpoint region, entered its second day on Wednesday.
Palestinian health authorities confirmed that at least 10 Palestinians have been killed during the operation, which comes shortly after a ceasefire ended over a year of hostilities in Gaza.
Israeli officials defended the operation, describing it as part of a broader effort to counter militant activity in the West Bank, citing thousands of attack attempts since the Gaza conflict erupted in October 2023.
In response, Saudi Arabia issued a statement urging the international community to act decisively. “The Kingdom renews its demand for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards halting Israeli violations of relevant international laws and treaties,” the Saudi foreign ministry stated.
The Kingdom further warned that continued violations by Israeli forces could reignite violence and chaos across the occupied Palestinian territories.
It said this poses grave risks to civilian security and stability while undermining the prospects for lasting peace in the region.
