Oman mandates vaccination for Umrah pilgrims
The Ministry of Health in Oman has announced that all citizens and residents planning to perform Umrah must receive the Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (ACYW135) in accordance with regulations set by Saudi Arabian authorities.
Pilgrims are required to present a vaccination certificate, issued through the Ministry’s Tarassud system, which remains valid for five years. The vaccine must be administered at least ten days before traveling to Saudi Arabia.
The vaccination is available at primary healthcare centers across Oman’s governorates and at specific private healthcare facilities designated for expatriates and residents.
Additionally, the Ministry advises pilgrims to receive a single dose of the seasonal flu vaccine prior to their journey.
These measures aim to prevent infections and ensure the health and safety of pilgrims and the wider community.
