Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip killed at least 17 Palestinians, eight of them at a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City.

Further casualties occurred during airstrikes targeting a car in Gaza City and in southern regions like Rafah and Khan Younis.

The Israeli military stated that the school was allegedly being used as a Hamas command center to plan and execute attacks.

Meanwhile, the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya has been ordered to evacuate by the Israeli military, a task described as “next to impossible” by the hospital’s director due to logistical challenges.

Israel’s military campaign, initiated after Hamas’s deadly attacks on October 7, 2023, aims to neutralize militant threats in northern Gaza.

This has been met with accusations of “ethnic cleansing” by Palestinians, a claim Israel denies, asserting its focus is on combating Hamas and its military infrastructure.

The conflict has devastated Gaza, leaving much of the territory in ruins, with over 45,000 reported deaths and the displacement of most of its 2.3 million residents.

Efforts by mediators, including Qatar and Egypt, to broker a ceasefire have yet to yield results. Disagreements persist despite partial progress in the negotiations.
