An 18-year-old Palestinian youth died late Monday after being critically wounded by Israeli gunfire during a military raid in eastern Nablus.

The victim, identified as Mohammed Yasser Abu Koshok, was a resident of the Askar refugee camp in Nablus, the Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported.

According to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Abu Koshok sustained life-threatening injuries during the incursion and later succumbed to his wounds after Israeli forces reportedly delayed medical teams from reaching him.

The military operation, which unfolded in two eastern areas of Nablus, saw Israeli soldiers accompanied by military vehicles fire live ammunition, sound bombs, and tear gas canisters into the area.

Local witnesses said another resident was physically assaulted during the raid.

The incident marks yet another escalation in the occupied West Bank, where violence has surged amid increased military operations.
