NCJW applauds Biden-Harris administration strategy to combat Islamophobia, Anti-Arab hate
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) has expressed strong support for the Biden-Harris Administration’s newly unveiled National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia and Anti-Arab Hate.
The late initiative by the outgoing Biden administration addresses the rising levels of hate and harassment faced by Muslim and Arab American communities, aiming to create safer and more inclusive environments for all.
As an organization rooted in fighting discrimination, NCJW said it recognizes the importance of the administration’s inclusive approach to combating hate.
“We know what it feels like to be seen and heard through this administration’s commitment to addressing antisemitism,” the NCJW stated, acknowledging the parallels between antisemitism and the challenges faced by Muslim and Arab Americans.
The NCJW emphasized that combating hate and discrimination should not rest solely on the shoulders of affected communities. “Just as the Jewish community is not responsible for fighting antisemitism alone, the Muslim and Arab American communities should not be left to fight hate by themselves,” the organization noted.
The council highlighted the necessity of collective action to build a society rooted in respect and understanding.
It reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside partners from all backgrounds to foster inclusivity and justice.
The NCJW concluded by commending the administration’s comprehensive approach and pledged to continue collaborating to ensure all communities feel valued and protected in the face of rising hate and intolerance.
