Dubai police arrest international fugitive Othman El Ballouti
Dubai Police have apprehended Othman El Ballouti, a Belgian national and one of the world’s most wanted people accused of involvement in transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.
The operation was conducted by the General Department of Criminal Investigation in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, following an international arrest warrant issued by Belgian authorities.
El Ballouti, listed on Interpol’s Red Notice and Europol’s database, was located and arrested in Dubai.
The arrest warrant was forwarded through the UAE Ministry of Justice’s International Cooperation Department, which serves as the central authority for such international requests.
Following his detention, El Ballouti has been transferred to Dubai Public Prosecution, where legal proceedings for his extradition are underway.
Dubai Police emphasized their commitment to global collaboration in fighting transnational organized crime.
The security agency stressed the importance of strengthening international partnerships and expertise-sharing to enhance global security and protect communities worldwide.
