The White House has issued a brief statement following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, signaling the United States’ attention to the unfolding events in Syria.

“President Biden and his team are closely monitoring the extraordinary events in Syria and staying in constant touch with regional partners,” the statement read.

While the future leadership of Syria remains uncertain, the opposition has outlined its vision for the nation’s foreign policy in a statement emphasizing international collaboration.

“The liberated Syria looks to deepen ties with all the brotherly and friendly nations on the basis of mutual respect and interests,” the opposition said.

It added, “We will aim to play a constructive role in the region and the world to achieve security and stability.”

The fall of al-Assad marks a historic turning point for Syria after decades of authoritarian rule.

With the promise of rebuilding a nation founded on peace and justice, the opposition’s vision for “new Syria” seeks to foster both regional and global partnerships.

Meanwhile, international observers, including the United States, are watching closely to see how power dynamics will evolve in the war-torn country.

Challenges remain significant, with questions surrounding the country’s governance, the return of displaced citizens, and efforts to ensure long-term stability.
