Over 44,000 killed in Gaza as war enters 13th month
The Gaza Health Ministry reported on Monday that more than 44,235 people have been killed in over 13 months of ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants.
The staggering death toll underscores the devastating human cost of the war, which has left the region in turmoil.
The ministry recorded 24 additional deaths in the past 24 hours alone. Since the conflict erupted on October 7, 2023, following a Hamas-led attack on Israel, the Gaza Strip has experienced relentless violence, resulting in widespread destruction and loss of life.
In addition to the fatalities, the ministry revealed that 104,638 individuals have been wounded. These numbers reflect the severe strain on Gaza’s medical infrastructure, which is struggling to cope with the influx of casualties amid dwindling resources.
The ongoing war has drawn international concern, with calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid growing louder. However, the violence shows no sign of abating, leaving civilians caught in the crossfire.
As the conflict continues, the situation in Gaza remains concerning, with the humanitarian toll mounting and the prospects for peace appearing increasingly distant.
