The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denounced Israel’s “continued and systematic targeting” of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), including its staff and facilities.

The ministry specifically condemned the recent Israeli strike on the UNRWA-run Abu Assi school in northern Gaza, which killed at least 10 people on Saturday.

In a statement, Saudi authorities emphasized the gravity of such attacks on humanitarian institutions, calling for international accountability for Israel’s actions.

Meanwhile, Spain has renewed its calls for an immediate ceasefire amidst escalating violence in Gaza and Lebanon. Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares expressed his condemnation of the intensifying bombings, which have claimed dozens of lives.

“The destruction and death must stop in the Middle East. We demand a cease-fire and compliance with international law,” Albares stated on X (formerly Twitter), underscoring the urgent need to end the hostilities.

The appeals come as Israel’s military continues to escalate its offensive in Gaza and southern Lebanon, prompting widespread international criticism and concern over the humanitarian toll.

Israel’s attacks on Gaza have killed at least 43,846 Palestinians and wounded 103,740 since October 7, 2023. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day, and more than 200 were held hostage.

In Lebanon, at least 3,481 people have been killed and 14,786 wounded in Israeli attacks since the war on Gaza began
