Rocket attacks by Hezbollah kill one, injure 17 in Israel
A 41-year-old woman was killed, and at least 17 others were reportedly injured on Monday as Hezbollah launched over 100 rockets at northern Israel and a missile targeting central regions.
The woman, identified as Safaa Awad, died after a rocket struck a three-story building in Shfar’am, a northern town, following a barrage of five projectiles directed at the Galilee.
Emergency responders found her trapped in a “protected space” within the building, though it remains unclear whether this was a bomb shelter or another reinforced area.
According to the Times of Israel, ten others sustained minor injuries from shattered glass during the attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed deploying interceptor missiles in response and is investigating the incident.
Later in the evening, a Hezbollah missile struck central Israel, injuring five people, including one seriously, in the Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan area.
The attacks mark a significant escalation in hostilities as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to rise, posing challenges to security forces and emergency responders amid ongoing conflict.
