Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 10 Palestinians, with seven fatalities reported in Beit Lahiya and three in Nuseirat camp.

The airstrikes targeted two houses in Beit Lahiya and one house in Nuseirat camp, with multiple people wounded in both incidents.

Prior to the airstrikes, Israeli forces deployed tanks into the northeast of Nuseirat camp. The recent escalation is part of a broader military operation that began on October 5, 2024, when Israel sent tanks into Jabalia, Beit Hanoun, and Beit Lahiya.

Israel says the objective is to prevent Hamas from regrouping, but Palestinians argue it’s a form of “ethnic cleansing” aimed at displacing populations to create buffer zones.

Meanwhile, the World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza “could soon escalate into famine” as Israeli forces continue to severely restrict the entry of food and other supplies into the enclave

The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with Gaza’s government media office reporting 1,800 Palestinians killed and 4,000 wounded since October 5. The situation remains concerning, with concerns about the humanitarian impact and potential for further escalation.
