Joy at last! UAE president pardons jailed Egyptian footballers
It’s a moment of joy for the supporters of Zamalafia football club of Egypt after the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan pardoned three football players of the club who had been convicted for fighting during a match on October 20 in Abu Dhabi.
The decision to pardon the convicted was based on the cordial relations that unite UAE and Egypt.
The Muslim Parrot reported earlier that the convicted players from the Egyptian top football club had been sentenced to a month in jail and were fined Dh200,000 each.

Nabil Emad Dongha, Mustafa Shalaby, and football director Abdel Wahed El Sayed were found guilty of assaulting public security personnel and inciting riots.
The court ruled that the charges against the accused were substantiated based on testimonies from victims and security camera footage.
The defendants were also found to have disregarded organizational regulations and attacked public employees responsible for securing the event.
Zamalek Club is one of Egypt‘s most iconic and successful football clubs, with a rich history dating back to 1911.
Alongside Al Ahly Club, Zamalek has dominated Egyptian football, winning numerous domestic and international titles, including 14 Egyptian Premier League titles and five CAF Champions League titles.
