Iran has expressed confidence in Hezbollah’s new leader, Naim Qassem, following the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah by the Israeli forces.

According to Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Qassem is a “worthy” successor who will enable Hezbollah to emerge victorious despite mounting pressures.

Qassem is set to deliver his first speech as Hezbollah secretary-general shortly, marking a significant moment for the organization.

Araghchi emphasized that Iran looks forward to meeting with Qassem, but noted that the timing depends on the evolving situation in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagheri, chief of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, praised Qassem’s selection as a testament to Hezbollah’s resilience and capacity to overcome challenges.

Bagheri described Qassem’s leadership as a crucial step in defeating the “Zionist vampire enemy.”

This development comes amid significant changes in the region’s political landscape. The assassination of Nasrallah, along with other key leaders like Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, has sparked widespread reactions.

Iran’s support for Hezbollah remains unwavering, with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei emphasizing the importance of resistance against Israeli aggression.

As Qassem prepares to outline his vision for Hezbollah’s future, all eyes are on Lebanon, awaiting the implications of the leadership transition.
