Three Egyptian players bag jail term, fine in UAE
Three Egyptian football players from Zamalek Club have been handed a one-month jail sentence and fined Dh200,000 each for their involvement in a violent incident during the Egyptian Super Cup semi-final match against Pyramids Club in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Nabil Emad Dongha, Mustafa Shalaby, and football director Abdel Wahed El Sayed were found guilty of assaulting public security personnel and inciting riots.
The court ruled that the charges against the accused were substantiated based on testimonies from victims and security camera footage.

The defendants were also found to have disregarded organizational regulations and attacked public employees responsible for securing the event.
The sentencing of the three players has significant implications for Zamalek Club and Egyptian football as a whole.
Zamalek Club is one of Egypt‘s most iconic and successful football clubs, with a rich history dating back to 1911.
Alongside Al Ahly Club, Zamalek has dominated Egyptian football, winning numerous domestic and international titles, including 14 Egyptian Premier League titles and five CAF Champions League titles.
