Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that Tehran was not looking for war but will respond “appropriately” to the recently carried out attack by the Israeli forces.

Responding to the attack by Israel, the Iranian leader maintained the right of the country to defend itself against foreign aggression, stating that Tehran will act appropriately.

“We do not seek war, but we will defend the rights of our nation and country. We will give an appropriate response to the aggression of the Zionist regime,” state news agency IRNA quoted Pezeshkian as saying.

Recall that Israel launched multiple airstrikes against military sites in Iran in response to Tehran’s missile attack on October 1, itself a retaliation for the killing of Iran-backed militant leaders and an Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel’s air raid on Iran was “precise and powerful” and achieved all its goals.

Reports say now fewer than four Iranian soldiers were killed in the attack which Iran said caused “limited damage” to a few radar systems.

The Israeli military has warned Tehran against responding.

Earlier on Sunday, Iran’s highest authority, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said Israel’s attack against Iran “should neither be exaggerated nor minimized.” He described the attack as a “miscalculation.”
