Video: Israel pounds Iran in retaliatory strikes, says “mission fulfilled”

The Israeli military launched airstrikes on Iran Saturday, targeting missile manufacturing facilities responsible for producing missiles used in attacks on Israel over the past year.
The facilities were struck by Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft, based on intelligence gathered by the military.
The airstrikes also targeted surface-to-air missile arrays and other Iranian aerial capabilities aimed at restricting Israel’s freedom of operation in Iranian airspace.
Iran’s missile manufacturing facilities have been linked to several attacks on Israel, including those in April and October this year.
“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel,” Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a video statement. “We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel. The Israel Defense Forces has fulfilled its mission.”
“If the regime in Iran were to make the mistake of beginning a new round of escalation — we will be obligated to respond,” he added.
The escalation between Israel and Iran is part of a broader conflict in the Middle East. Tensions have been rising since October 7, when Hamas launched an attack on Israel, followed by Hezbollah joining the conflict in solidarity with Palestinians.
Iran has accused Israel of genocide in Gaza and threatened severe consequences.
In response to Iran’s attacks, Israel has vowed to take action. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Iran “will pay” for its actions, while the US promised “severe consequences” and pledged support for Israel.
