Emirates Airlines gives reason for suspending flights to Iran, Iraq
Emirates Airlines has cancelled flights to and from Iran and Iraq until October 23, 2024.
The global airline cited the rising regional tensions that has taken a devastating tolls on civilians
The move will impact customers transiting through Dubai with final destinations in Iraq and Iran.
However, flydubai flights to Tehran, Baghdad, and Erbil have resumed operations, allowing customers to travel with immediate effect.

Recall that flights to and from Iran were cancelled until October 8, then extended to October 16. Meanwhile, Emirates’ flights to and from Lebanon remain cancelled until October 31.
The cancellations follow Iran’s missile attack on Israel and potential Israeli retaliation.
As a precaution, Emirates has also banned pagers and walkie-talkies on flights to, from, or via Dubai, including in check-in and cabin baggage following massive explosions that killed over 30 people and injured several others in Lebanon.
Hezbollah has accused Israel of orchestrating the explosions.
There has been no official response from Israel regarding the blasts, which occurred amidst ongoing cross-border warfare between Israel and Hezbollah.
