No fewer than 2,412 have now been confirmed killed from Israel’s ongoing assault on Lebanon since October 8, 2023, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported.

In a statement, the ministry noted that Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours had killed 45 people and injured 179 others, bringing the total number of injured to 11,267.

Since September 23, Israel has launched a massive air campaign in Lebanon, targeting what it claims are Hezbollah positions, displacing over 1.34 million people in the process.

This air campaign marks an escalation in the cross-border conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which intensified after Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Since the start of that operation, over 42,400 people, largely women and children, have been killed in Gaza following a Hamas attack last year.

Israel expanded the conflict on October 1 by initiating an incursion into southern Lebanon despite international warnings that the Middle East was on the verge of a regional war.
