Rise in anti-Semitic attacks: Toronto school hit by gunfire again
A Jewish school in Toronto, Bais Chaya Mushka girls school, was targeted by gunfire for the second time this year, sparking widespread concern amidst rising anti-Semitic attacks in Canada since the Gaza conflict began.
Fortunately, no one was injured when shots were fired from a vehicle at 4 am, damaging only a window.
This incident bears striking similarities to a previous shooting in May, leading police to investigate potential connections between the two events.

The timing of the attack, coinciding with Yom Kippur celebrations, has drawn strong condemnation from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who expressed deep disturbance over the incident.
“As we wait for more details, my heart goes out to the students, staff and parents who must be terrified and hurting today,” Trudeau said in a post on X.
“Anti-Semitism is a disgusting and dangerous form of hate — and we won’t let it stand,” he added.
The disturbing trend of anti-Semitism has been on the rise in Canada, with Vancouver reporting a 62% increase in anti-Semitic hate incidents in 2023, and a 31% overall increase in hate crimes across all communities.
