No fewer than 22 civilians, including children and women, have been confirmed killed and numerous others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a school sheltering displaced persons in Rafah, Gaza.

The Palestinian news agency WAFA correspondent, citing medical sources, confirmed the casualties, stating that several injured victims are in critical condition.

The bombing targeted Rafidah School, which was serving as a temporary shelter for those displaced in the conflict.

This tragic incident has added to the growing humanitarian concerns in the region.

The Israeli forces have continued their raging attacks on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of 42,010 citizens and the injury of 97,720 others, the majority of whom are children and women.

Thousands of missing persons are still under the rubble as calls for a ceasefire failed despite recent efforts by the United States and France.

The war in Gaza has spread to Lebanon with several warfronts opened. Israel’s military pounded Lebanon in the last 24 hours, killing at least five people in the southern town of Wardaniyeh, and another five paramedics in the Tyre district.
