Our response against Iran will be “deadly, precise and surprising” – Israel

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has vowed that Israel’s response to the recent attacks by Iran will be “deadly, precise and surprising”.

This comes after Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel last week, which Gallant described as “aggressive but imprecise” during his visit to an IDF intelligence unit. The missile attack, codenamed Operation True Promise 2 by Iran, targeted Israeli military facilities, including the Nevatim Airbase and Tel Nof Airbase.

Yoav Gallant adds: “The air force was not harmed, all the routes are working, continuity is maintained, not a single plane was harmed, not a single soldier was harmed, and not a single civilian was harmed.

“Our attack will be deadly, precise and above all surprising, [Iran] will not understand what happened and how it happened, they will see the results.”

The Iranian attack was reportedly in retaliation for Israel’s assassinations of top Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, including Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah. However, Gallant’s statement suggests that Israel is ready to take decisive action against Iran.

The escalating tensions between Israel and Iran have raised concerns about the potential for a full-blown regional conflict. The US has pledged to work with Israel to ensure Iran faces repercussions for its actions, with officials promising “severe consequences.”

Fighting is continuing between Hezbollah and Israel, with scores of people killed in an Israeli air strike on a Lebanese village, and two killed by Hezbollah rockets in northern Israel, local authorities say.
