Saudi leaders congratulate Guinea on 66th Independence Day
Saudi Arabia’s leaders have extended heartfelt congratulations to Guinea’s President Mamadi Doumbouya on the country’s 66th Independence Day.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent cables to President Doumbouya, wishing him continued good health, happiness, and prosperity for the government and people of Guinea.
Guinea gained independence from France on October 2, 1958, after being a French colony for over a century. The country’s independence was a result of a referendum in which the Guinean people chose independence over continued association with France.

Since then, Guinea has navigated a complex history, including periods of authoritarian rule and political instability.
