World: Giant Trump statue sparks outrage in Las Vegas
A colossal 43ft-tall statue of Donald Trump in the nude has sparked outrage among Republicans after its display near Las Vegas, with the Nevada Republican Party strongly condemning the “deplorable statue.”
This isn’t the first time a naked Trump statue has made headlines; a similar installation appeared in downtown Las Vegas in 2016, created by artist Joshua Monroe.
The latest statue, titled “Crooked and Obscene,” is intended to “ignite conversations” according to the anonymous artist’s spokesperson.

Weighing 6,000lbs and made of foam over the rebar, the massive effigy was displayed on a plot of land off a Nevada highway. Its location and design have raised concerns, with the Nevada Republican Party stating that families driving through Las Vegas are forced to view this “offensive marionette” designed for shock value rather than meaningful dialogue.
The party explained that President Trump and Republicans are focused on delivering results that matter, including reducing inflation, securing borders, creating jobs, and ensuring a brighter future for all Americans. In contrast, they accused Democrats, particularly Kamala Harris, of prioritizing shock value over substance.
The statue’s removal was scheduled for Monday night, and it will be relocated to key swing states. This move comes as Nevada prepares for another closely contested presidential election, having voted Democrat in the last four elections, albeit narrowly. In 2020, Joe Biden won the state with 50.1% of the vote, compared to Trump’s 47.7%.
