On Monday, the UAE’s foreign ministry reported that extensive damage had been caused to the ambassador’s residence in Khartoum. The ministry highlighted the importance of safeguarding diplomatic buildings and embassy staff residences, in line with treaties governing diplomatic relations.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs … will submit a letter of protest to the League of Arab States, the African Union, and the United Nations against this attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces, as it represents a flagrant violation of the fundamental principle of the inviolability of diplomatic premises,” the UAE statement said.
