The Israeli army announced a ground operation in southern Lebanon early Tuesday, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and affiliates. The operation, dubbed “Northern Arrows,” aims to neutralize threats to Israeli communities.

“In accordance with the decision of the political echelon, a few hours ago, the IDF began limited, localized and targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence against Hezbollah targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon,” the Israeli military stated.

“These targets are located in villages close to the border and pose an immediate threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel.” The military added that it is operating according to a plan set by the General Staff and Northern Command.

The Israeli Air Force and IDF artillery are supporting ground forces with precise strikes. The operation will continue based on situational assessment.

This development follows Israel’s establishment of a closed military zone near the Lebanese border and airstrikes on southern Beirut suburbs Monday evening.

Recall that the Muslim Parrot reported that Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant issued a stern warning to Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon, stating that ground forces may be deployed to combat the group.

Speaking to Israeli troops stationed at the northern border, Gallant explained that military operations will continue despite the killing of Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an airstrike on Friday.

Gallant stressed that Israel will use all necessary means to achieve its objectives, including air, sea, and land forces. “We will use all the means that may be required — your forces, other forces, from the air, from the sea, and on land,” he said. “The elimination of Nasrallah is an important step, but it is not the final one.”

Since September 23, Israel’s airstrikes have killed over 960 people and injured 2,770 in Lebanon. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza.
