GO Sport, the global retailer renowned for its high-performance athletic apparel and sports gear, is making its move into Baghdad, marking a significant milestone in its regional expansion.

The move follows the brand’s acquisition by Al Mana in April 2023 and signals the company’s ambition to capture Iraq’s rapidly growing market.

“We are thrilled to bring GO Sport’s unique retail experience to Iraq,” said Tom Foley, CEO of GO Sport. “This new expansion in Baghdad is just the beginning of our journey in Iraq, and we look forward to expanding our presence further.”

Located in the heart of Baghdad, the new GO Sport store will offer a comprehensive range of premium apparel, footwear, and accessories across various sports categories, from training and football to swimming and lifestyle. The brand is targeting men, women, and children with its vast selection of performance-driven products.

The expansion is made possible through a franchise agreement between Al Mana and International Venture Investment Holding (IVI Holding), a major player in the MENA region with investments across multiple sectors, including retail. The partnership positions GO Sport to tap into the country’s evolving consumer base, which is increasingly seeking quality sportswear as interest in fitness and athletics grows.

This new venture in Baghdad represents not just a business opportunity, but a cultural shift, as GO Sport aims to introduce world-class sports retailing to a city eager for modern shopping experiences. The launch in Iraq’s capital is expected to be a springboard for further growth throughout the country.
