The Israeli occupation army announced that it had launched an investigation after video clips showing soldiers pushing bodies from the roof of a building in the occupied West Bank began circulating online.

The footage, which surfaced on Thursday, showed three soldiers on the roof of a building in Qabatiya, dragging, shoving, and, in one instance, kicking the bodies of Palestinians before throwing them from the roof.

Zakaria Zakarneh, the uncle of one of the victims and an eyewitness, recounted that Israeli soldiers climbed to the roof after the Palestinians were killed. “They tried to move the bodies down with a bulldozer, but it didn’t work, so they threw them from the second floor to the ground. I was in pain, very sad, and angry. I was unable to do anything,” he said.

The incident’s location and date were confirmed by eyewitness reports and footage from Palestinian news outlets.

In response to the incident, the White House condemned the soldiers’ actions as “disturbing” and confirmed it had requested an explanation from Israel. “If it’s proven to be authentic, it clearly would depict abhorrent and egregious behaviour by professional soldiers,” stated US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.
