Exclusive: Islamic scholar emphasises importance of goal-setting for faithful
An Islamic scholar, Shaykh Abdulrazaq Al Madany, has urged Muslims across the world to prioritise setting goals to guide their daily activities in preparation for meeting with Allah in the Hereafter.
The Islamic scholar emphasised the importance of setting clear objectives that align with Islamic principles to ensure spiritual and personal growth.
Shaykh Al Madany made the call during his Friday sermon at the Alhaji Yahaya Sanni Central Mosque, Ilorin, Kwara State, north-cental Nigeria.
He advised worshippers to establish daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals, highlighting key religious practices such as performing daily prayers, giving alms, observing Hajj, paying Zakat, and seeking knowledge. He stressed that these actions should be part of a structured plan to strengthen one’s faith.
In his khutbah, the Shaykh underscored the significance of goal-setting, stating that it helps Muslims remain focused on their religious duties and responsibilities, adding that setting concrete targets ensures that believers remain steadfast in their devotion and avoid neglecting their obligations.
The sermon concluded with a call for all Muslims to take a proactive approach to organising their spiritual and worldly affairs, encouraging them to integrate acts of worship and charity into their daily lives for the betterment of themselves and their communities.
