Led by Saudi Space Agency Vice Chairman and CEO Mohammed Al-Tamimi, the Saudi delegation presented the Kingdom’s latest advancements and its ambitious plans to leverage space technology for sustainable development and climate change solutions.

Under the theme “Space Economy and Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities,” the meeting, initiated during Saudi Arabia’s G20 presidency, focused on the intersection of space technology and global environmental challenges. Al-Tamimi stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to using space innovations for the benefit of the planet. “Saudi Arabia is determined to harness the power of space to drive sustainable development and address the critical issue of climate change,” he said.

The Saudi Space Agency’s efforts to enhance infrastructure, attract investment, and promote innovation were a central part of the discussions, positioning the Kingdom as a key player in the rapidly evolving space economy. Al-Tamimi also explored partnerships and investment opportunities with leaders of Brazilian space companies, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s intent to expand its role in peaceful space exploration.

In a strategic move, Saudi Arabia signed a cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Space Agency, aimed at boosting collaboration on peaceful space exploration. Al-Tamimi also held talks with his Brazilian and Indian counterparts to strengthen ties and explore future cooperation in space economy ventures.

As Saudi Arabia continues to make strides in space technology, the country is signaling its readiness to lead in the global space sector while addressing pressing climate challenges.
