Algeria’s incumbent President Abdelmadjid Tebboune was re-elected with almost 95 percent of the vote, the country’s electoral authority ANIE said Sunday.
President Tebboune, 78, was widely expected to win a second five-year term and did so in a contest against two rivals – Abdelaali Hassani, 57, who garnered 3.17% of the vote, and socialist Youcef Aouchiche, 41, who secured 2.16%.
