5,000 Iraqi football fans to attend Iraq-Kuwait World Cup qualifying match

The Iraqi Ambassador to Kuwait, Al-Manhal Al-Safi, revealed on Monday that 5000 football fans from Iraq will attend the match between the Iraqi and Kuwaiti national teams in the third round of the World Cup qualifiers on September 10.

Al-Safi said via X, formerly Twitter, that he met with the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, to provide a mechanism for the entry of 5,000 Iraqi fans holding electronic passports to Kuwait.

The Iraqi ambassador added that announcement follows a meeting held between Al-Sabah and the Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, to allow Iraqi fans to attend the match that will be played in Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

The Iraq Football Association (IFA) and Kuwait Football Association (KFA) will organize the fans’ entry and accommodation in cooperation with the authorities in Kuwait, according to Al-Safi.

Iraq defeated Kuwait 17 times out of the 37 games that were played between the two teams. Kuwait won 10 games, and the two teams drew 10 other games.
