SAP officials visit Baghdad to provide path for Iraq’s digital development
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has recently met with representatives from SAP, a global leader in software solutions, to discuss the company’s executive summary outlining a roadmap for Iraq’s digital transformation.
The meeting highlighted the Iraqi government’s commitment to modernizing the country’s digital infrastructure after decades of disconnection from global technological advancements due to wars and sanctions.
Al-Sudani emphasized the urgency of bridging this technological gap, which has long hindered Iraq’s development during a critical period of global digital evolution. In response, the government has prioritized digital transformation across all levels of the state.
To lead this effort, a high-level committee has been established under the Prime Minister’s chairmanship, comprising ministers and heads of government authorities.
The committee’s primary focus will be to accelerate Iraq’s progress in this area, leveraging both new opportunities and existing initiatives.
As part of this effort, the government has initiated a comprehensive review of what has been achieved so far to identify and strengthen successful projects, ensuring that Iraq can make significant strides in its digital transformation journey.
