Egyptian authorities order detention of two Israelis for assaulting hotel workers
The Egyptian prosecution office has ordered the detention of two Israeli citizens for allegedly assaulting three hotel workers in the Red Sea town of Taba, near the Israeli border, according to Egyptian security sources.
The two Israelis, facing charges of assault and displaying force, will be held in custody for four days pending investigations.
The incident occurred on Friday at a hotel in Taba, where a fight broke out involving three Arab Israeli tourists and two Egyptian hotel workers, leaving five people injured.
According to Egyptian security sources, the altercation started when an Arab Israeli tourist verbally insulted an Egyptian hotel employee, sparking a physical fight that drew in other tourists and employees.
One Egyptian worker sustained serious injuries, according to Egypt’s state-affiliated Al-Qahera News television channel, which also reported that the fight began when several tourists refused to pay for hotel services.
