Exclusive: New York-based peace advocate, Mohamed Bahe, champions $2000 aid for Gaza widow
A New York-based peace advocate and founder of Freedom Bakeries, Mohamed Bahe, has championed $2000 aid for a Gaza widow living in Egypt.
Bahe disclosed this via his Facebook page on Saturday July 24, 2024, to underscore the dire circumstances faced by many affected by the ongoing conflict.
He stated that at just 25 years old, the young widow from Gaza is grappling with unimaginable loss.
Over the past eight months, she has seen her immediate family and in-laws decimated by the violence that has gripped the region. Her husband, father, brother, and most of her family have all perished, leaving her alone in Egypt with her two young children. Isolated and devoid of familial support, her attempts to smile mask the profound grief and hardship etched into her face.
Mohamed Bahe’s emotional post highlights not only her story but also his commitment to providing aid.
“Alhamdullilah, she is one of two widows we are adopting by sponsoring her and her children every month,” Bahe shared.
In a bid to offer some semblance of comfort and stability, Bahe has provided her with $2,000, intended to cover her living expenses for the next five to six months.
This act of kindness is not a one-time gesture. Bahe announced plans for continued support, with Marwa Janini set to deliver the next sponsorship envelope in January 2025.
The ongoing assistance aims to ensure that the young widow and her children can navigate the immediate future with some degree of security and hope.
Bahe’s message is a clarion call to the global community, emphasizing the crucial role of solidarity and support in times of crisis.
“I cannot stress enough how important it is for us to show up for these people,” he implored. “Wallahy, they lost EVERYTHING in Gaza and currently have NOTHING in Egypt. Nothing matters to them now besides their children.”
