According to a memorandum of understanding signed between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and the Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Al-Kassbai, reviewed on Tuesday the completion of the electrical interconnection between the two countries.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to strengthen joint cooperation, and the efforts required to reduce tension in the region, as well as the need to continue joint efforts to end the war in Gaza as soon as possible and to open safe corridors to deliver humanitarian aid, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The meeting addressed measures taken by Iraq and Saudi Arabia to hold the sixth session of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council.

Al-Sudani valued Saudi Arabia’s efforts in this year’s pilgrimage season, hailing the level of services provided to Iraqi pilgrims.
