Iraqi embarks on epic bicycle trip from Baghdad to Africa
In a remarkable display of endurance and adventurous spirit, Salah Mohammed, an Iraqi cyclist, is gearing up for a monumental journey. His ambitious plan involves pedaling his bicycle from Baghdad all the way to Africa, traversing 17 countries in the process.
Mohammed’s daring route includes Iraq, Iran, UAE, Oman, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.
Mohammed’s route begins in his homeland of Iraq, where he will cycle through the bustling streets of Baghdad. From there, he will make his way to Iran from Basra, experiencing the rich history and varied terrains of the region. His journey will then take him to the United Arab Emirates and Oman, where he will navigate through modern cities and picturesque deserts.
Entering Africa, he’ll navigate Djibouti’s gateway, Ethiopia’s rugged landscapes, Kenya’s wildlife, and Tanzania’s plains. His path continues through Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Malawi’s stunning lake region, followed by Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique’s coastal beauty.
