Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Sudani takes action to revitalize construction Sector
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has made a significant move to revitalize the country’s construction sector, attending a workshop in Baghdad aimed at boosting infrastructure development. This initiative aligns with the launch of construction projects for new residential communities across Iraq.
Addressing the pressing housing crisis gripping the nation, Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting private industry and overcoming obstacles hindering its progress. He emphasized the pivotal role of both the Council of Ministers and the Ministerial Council for the Economy in facilitating this endeavor.
Furthermore, Al-Sudani announced the formalization of the project agreement for the city of Al-Ghazlani in Nineveh. Construction activities for this venture are slated to commence within the next three months, marking a significant step forward in addressing the housing shortage in the region.
In addition to the Al-Ghazlani project, efforts are underway to finalize the licensing process for the city of Ali Al-Wardi, which is earmarked to accommodate 120,000 housing units. Al-Sudani highlighted the diligent efforts of the legal team entrusted with expediting this critical phase of development.
The Prime Minister’s proactive stance underscores the government’s determination to tackle socio-economic challenges head-on, with a particular focus on bolstering the construction sector to meet the growing demand for affordable housing across Iraq.
