Tetra Pak, Alssad, Al Rabie join forces to enhance food security in Iraq
In a strategic move aimed at addressing Iraq’s food security concerns, Tetra Pak, a Swiss packaging company, has forged a partnership with Iraq’s Alssad Company for Food and Saudi Arabia’s Al Rabie. The collaborative effort seeks to cater to the needs of Iraq’s burgeoning population by ensuring a steady supply of food and beverages.
The primary objective of this alliance is to meet the growing demands of Iraq’s populace by manufacturing an ambitious target of 50 million packaged beverages, encompassing both family-sized and portioned packages. This initiative comes in response to the escalating requirements of the country’s inhabitants.
Scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2024, the joint venture will provide a comprehensive solution for the production of juice, nectar, still drinks (JNSD), and dairy products. Leveraging Tetra Pak’s state-of-the-art technology and expertise, Alssad’s facility in Baghdad will serve as the production hub for co-packing Al Rabie’s products.
Ghassan Sabeeh, Managing Partner at Alssad, expressed pride in the collaborative endeavor, highlighting its significance in not only diversifying food and beverage options for Iraqi consumers but also in addressing the pressing issue of food security in the region. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to the welfare of the Iraqi population.

He underscored the importance of providing high-quality products tailored to meet the diverse needs of Iraqi consumers, thereby making a meaningful impact on their lives.
