Saudi Business Center facilitates instant commercial license issuance
The Saudi Business Center (SBC) has announced its decision to streamline the issuance process for two vital licenses aimed at investors and business owners: the municipal commercial license and the safety license, administered by the General Directorate of Civil Defense..
According to the SBC, this new initiative is designed to simplify the commencement and operation of businesses within the Kingdom. The center will offer a Commercial Municipality License service accessible through its business platform, enabling the business sector to apply for both licenses simultaneously across more than 600 commercial activities.
The issuance process will involve verification of specific conditions and requirements, including the provision of a lease contract, title deed, or site investment contract, along with documentation such as a safety equipment invoice or a safety report from the Civil Defense. Compliance with activity requirements outlined in the ‘Baladi’ portal of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the ‘Salama’ portal of the General Directorate of Civil Defense, will also be ensured.
The SBC further disclosed its commitment to various responsibilities, notably proposing the development of policies and procedures in collaboration with relevant government entities. These efforts will focus on reviewing and re-engineering processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness, thereby fostering an attractive business environment conducive to the Kingdom’s economic growth.
Established by a Cabinet decision, the Saudi Business Center serves as a centralized hub providing over 750 services from 65 government agencies related to the business sector. With 17 branches located across 14 cities nationwide, its digital platform offers high-quality services, empowering investors and business owners to navigate economic procedures seamlessly.
The SBC’s mission aligns with the national vision to position the Kingdom as a global leader in delivering quality, streamlined, and efficient government services to the business community. Organizational ties to the Council of Economic and Development Affairs underscore its strategic importance in advancing the nation’s economic agenda.
